How is having a removable hard drive that's not removable enough not nitpicking?
Or that the controller comes with batteries (like every other 360 that comes with a wireless controller), or that the power supply is different, or the hard-drive enclosure being proprietary (like every other 360), or having an extra port dedicated to kinect.
as wohoo said, it's in the article.
Why waste an announcement that insignificant now? You announce that late summer when video game news is in enormous drought, and you get one free week of exclusive Kinect reporting in the media.
It's nor really news, but when there's no news, anything is news, and any publicity is good publicity as they say.
So are you saying nintendo is losing this generation?
Sales != quality, but sales is the only objective indicator of who wins or loses, so you can't ignore them just because it suits your argument.
I am only interested in Maya. Autodesk clearly won this E3...
It was a stupid test regardless of what they were testing.
"AND WE'RE SWITCHING TO AN ALL DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION MODEL" -Sony
"NOBODY CARES ABOUT THE PSP ANYWAY! GIVE US MORE DS!" -Consumers
if anything the iPhone and the original PSP prove digital distribution works. The iPhone because of the app store, PSP because of the prevalence of pirated games on custom firmware.
You can stream HD video from any PC on your network to your 360 through the network. Why would you ever run out of 250 gb?
That's not the x-clamp. That's the heat sink. The x clamp is on the bottom of the board, and the problem with the clamp was the wrong solder not the clamp itself.
"A new design doesnt fuel sales
A new design + a PRICE DROP fuels sales MS missed the key ingredient."
New design's fuel sales. See: http://www.amazon.com/gp/be...
There's also increased value with built in wifi now, which essentially the same as a price drop.
I'm not surprised they made him put it on for the reasons above, but how is Kojima not a VIP?
He should be able to walk around the convention nude.
Nintendo had the best conference.
They had unannounced games, unannounced hardware, and a really entertaining conference presentation wise.
I think the reason both sony and M$ did that is because they're both releasing a major peripheral. There really isn't another show before the holiday season for them to really show off their peripherals.
One of the IGN editors said something that I think is probably the reason they don't want huge titles this fall. They've got a couple huge things releasing in Halo Reach and Kinect, and they don't want competition. Sucks for gamers who want more stuff, but...
@"I honestly can't understand how people think MS will out do Sony when they have next to no studio support compared to Sony 20+ in house and nearly a dozen exclusive support from devs like Sucker Punch, Quantic Dreams, etc.. "
Microsoft focuses on the second party. Rather than buying studios they buy games. It's just a different investment strategy. Even sony has had dry years despite owning so many studios. The one thing M$ should do that sony does well is...
It's a good thing the show isn't less than 24 hours away so we could just wait. Now we have days and days to speculate instead.
OHWAIT...
By the time I wake up tomorrow everyone will be able to definitively know whether E3 sucked or not for Microsoft, and in 2 days for everyone else. Why not just wait?
Each revision costs sony a lot of money. Every time they redesign a board they have to refit all of their manufacturing to produce the new product, and they have to retrain their people on how to assemble the new product. If the PS3 were hurting for sales it might be possible, but it isn't, so why would the redesign it?
It would be a waste of money to redesign the PS3 Slim noticeably besides possibly new colors or a bigger hard-drive.
No it isn't. It's one color camera (the cheap webcam), and one infrared camera and an infrared light source.
The thing that separates Natal is the infrared depth sensing camera, which makes a world of difference as it can paint a 3D layer over the color images it sees. It takes a lot of the guess work out of the image processing.
It's a significantly more usable piece of input than a normal camera.
black suited spider man is the best bet if they're going for what sells the most games.
which titles do they bash?
Everyone I've talked to seems to recognize that KZ2 and the uncharted games are all great games.
no it hasn't.
wii fit 22.56
halo 3, gears 1, and gears 2
11.01 + 6.06 + 5.73 = 22.80
That's doubly true now that they're actually making money off of it. They're still in the red, but it's stupid to kill something when it starts making money. If they were going to kill it at any time it would have been when RROD first happened.
it's a little smaller. More like the size of the power bricks that come with laptops.
